There is nothing basic about these amazing invitations!

One of the best parts of my job as a wedding photographer is walking alongside my couples as they plan. Getting to give advice, provide ideas (I basically try to get all my couples to make a doughnut wall instead of a cake) 😉, and planning the perfect day.

If you and your future Mr./Mrs. prefer a more hands-on approach to making your wedding dream a reality, Basic Invite is the perfect resource for you. Basic Invite is by far the most incredible custom stationery site I’ve worked with. I was so impressed with the fact they have almost unlimited colors! It makes them so unique among other stationery sites. They even have over 40 different colors of envelopes! And the site is incredibly easy to navigate. It didn’t take me any time at all to create a card. However it did take me awhile to narrow down my favorite designs because I wanted all of them!

Below are some of the samples I received with photos of my KEP couples:

Another amazing aspect of Basic Invites design process if that you can get custom samples of your creations! It’s on of the few sites that allows you to order a printed sample to see how it looks and feels in person.

I loved seeing my photos printed on these gorgeous invitation and thank you cards! Basic Invite just launched Seal & Send Wedding Invitations which are an all-in-one wedding invitation with a tear-off RSVP postcard included! You don’t even need an envelope because guest's addresses are printed on the front of each invitation. All you have to do is share a link, collect guest addresses, and upload them onto your design, instantly. Once you receive your order all you have to do is add postage, fold your invites, and secure them with a sticker! I’m all about finding products and companies that make wedding planning easy and simple. Basic Invite does just that!

Wise words from my dad on Father's Day

My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person: He believed in me.
— Jim Valvano

Happy Father’s Day to my personal chef, business advisor, protector, comedian, and role model. My dad is one of a kind. He does generous acts when no ones watching, treats everyone with kindness, and is a hard worker for everything he has. I can’t think of another man who even compares!

I asked my dad for some life and business advice to share with you all below:

Advice for life:

  1. Be kind

  2. Do something nice for someone everyday

  3. Live one day at a time and enjoy it

Advice for business:

  1. Build relationships!

  2. Sometimes more than not it's who you know not what you know!

  3. Giveback

  4. Never forget where you came from

So again, Happy Father's day to my dad and all the other amazing dads in the world!

What do I get my bridesmaids?!

Choosing your bridesmaids for your big day is so important! Choosing what to get them is equally as important. If you love your ladies as much as Leslie loves Ann- here are some ideas to get you started on finding the perfect gift!

Diamonds are a girls best friend! You can never go wrong visiting Etsy for cute jewelry ideas. One of my favorite jewelers is a local Seattle babe with beautiful pieces, La Objeteria. Barbara Magana Perez is the girl boss behind gorgeous feminine designs that will make your bridesmaids swoon!

If you're like me and you can't wrap- gift baskets are another great option! One of my super sweet Instagram followers Meredith Hallinan (@meredithhallinan) suggested the Seattle based company Wish and Pink! Wish and Pink's motto is, "Luxury gifts for extraordinary events." And their work is GORGEOUS! You'll be on their site forever looking through all the beautiful boxes!

Instead of getting your girl gang a present, you could treat them to a girls night out! Do a wine tasting, painting class, spa day, or my personal favorite- flower arranging! Alicia's table brings women together to learn new skills, and live a social and creative lifestyle. You can all celebrate your engagement by making your first memory as a bridal party!

I hope these ideas jumpstart your search for the perfect gift! Congrats on your big day and happy shopping <3

Out with the old and in with the new!

My new site and branding is here! WOO HOO!

I have been working so hard on designing my new site- and it's actually done! I also got new branding from the very talented Ink + Laurel. Check out this amazing girls work here! I hope you enjoy the new look :) I've been really busy shooting all over the place I'm so excited to finally launch the new KEP! Sneak peeks are coming soon from my recents shoots so keep an eye out on the blog and on social media! Have a great week!
